WESKEM provided the trained operators and technical support to perform a sludge dewatering project for RWE NUKEM /Eagle Construction at the Department of Energy (DOE) ETTP site in Oak Ridge, TN. The sludge contained classified materials requiring special handling.

 WESKEM provided the cleared (Q clearance) staff to operate RWE NUKEM’s dewatering equipment to process classified sludge for a facility demolition project managed by the Eagle Construction Company. The project activities included:

 • Training for the supervisor and operators,

• Mobilization and set up of the process equipment,

• Extraction and dewatering of the sludge,

 • Packaging of the dewatered sludge,

 • Demobilization of the equipment WESKEM personnel prepared the final waste packages for shipment, and the project was completed without a safety incident on schedule and within the project budget.
