WESKEM provided turnkey services
for the disposition of hazardous waste from the Westinghouse,
Hematite Facility decommissioning project in Festus, Missouri. These
services included all materials and labor necessary to sample,
characterize, package, transport, and dispose of RCRA hazardous
waste. WESKEM technicians also provided verification sampling of
potentially mixed waste materials. After all the RCRA hazardous
waste had been packaged and inventoried, WESKEM technicians labeled
the UN approved containers in accordance with the Department of
Transportation and Environmental Protection Agency regulations.
WESKEM also supplied completed profiles and shipping manifests. The
waste was then loaded and shipped to the selected, licensed disposal
facility. WESKEM provided sample analysis of the potentially mixed
waste identified, and developed disposition options for those
materials. Certificates of destruction and/or disposal were provided
to Westinghouse once all the waste had been treated and properly
disposed.
